Meet Lily

Meet Lily

Meet Lily, the 27-year-old founder of LilyEve.

Lily was born and raised in London, before moving at 18 to New York City, to study graphic design at Parsons School of Design. During her time at Parsons, she discovered her passion for fashion and silk screen printing.

After graduating, Lily began freelancing in graphic design until the pandemic hit and she had to move back in with her parents, in East Hampton, NY. Like many people her age, she was out of work and unsure what to do with her spare time. Her parents had inherited a set of Hermes beach towels, and with her eye for graphic design she was drawn to their striking prints. This is when LilyEve began.

Lily started by cutting her parents' vintage towels into face masks, to raise money for FoodBank NY. After raising over $10,000 for the charity, she needed help to keep up with demand, it was then that she was introduced to Michel. The pair began working together and have never looked back. They now design, cut, sew (& chat) all day long.

Sustainability was always hugely important to Lily, so when coming up with the idea behind the brand, she knew she wanted to offer people a luxury, and bespoke shopping experience, with core values around sustainable fashion.

Every item Lily & Michel make is the product of two people who share a love in what they create.

Meet Michel

Meet Michel

Meet Michel, the remarkable 90-year-old partner of LilyEve.

Michel was born and raised in Quebec, Canada, his mother owned a local fabric store and that is where his love of fashion began.

Michel's incredible resume in fashion, shines through in his timeless patterns for LilyEve. His career started in Paris working under the incredible Jacques Fath, before moving back to New York and working on broadway shows, designing the costumes for productions like Funny Girl.

Around this time, he met his late partner Wayne Young, an aspiring Graphic Designer working at Time & Life magazine, it was then that the couple decided to make the move to East Hampton and open their own womenswear boutique. The pair were ahead of their time, designing fashionable suits for working women. Needless to say the store was a huge success and remained open for 32 years.

After the store closed, Michel started assisting designers in producing their collections, that were most notably sold in Bergdorf Goodman.

Fast forward to the pandemic! And this is where the story of LilyEve began. Lily was introduced to Michel through their local fishmonger in Amagansett, when she needed help producing face masks, made from vintage Hermes beach towels.

The two hit it off instantly, and began working together. Lily & Michel's bond is undeniable! And their shared love for fashion and creativity shines through in LilyEve's products.
